Global fundsMobilizing global financing for the SDGs

Global pooled funds bring together the United Nations with a variety of partners to address cross-border challenges that cannot be tackled by a single government alone. Some, like the Joint SDG Fund, work across all development goals in multiple countries, while others encourage multiple stakeholders to share the burden of finding solutions to common challenges. The Peacebuilding Fund is an example of the latter, supporting countries transitioning away from conflict towards stability and peace through the application of state and peacebuilding practices.
Several pooled funds also tackle specific, borderless challenges: the flagship Spotlight Initiative attempts to eradicate violence against women and girls around the world as the United Nations Disability Fund promotes the rights of people with disabilities in over 40 countries.
