United Nations entities, governments, NGOs, and international financial institutions have an important role to play in operationalizing pooled funds by implementing projects and initiatives. In joining forces, our partners bring their expertise, capital, and human resources to the table to make a long-lasting and meaningful impact. Although United Nations entities (“UN Participating Organizations” in pooled funding terminology) are the primary implementing partners for MPTF Office pooled funds, new legal instruments have made it possible to expand implementation opportunities to other multilateral organizations, programme country governments, and “non-UN organizations," like NGOs and international cooperation agencies.
Each Participating Organization operates under its own financial regulations, rules, and policies, and assumes full financial and programmatic accountability for funds transferred through the MPTF Office.
