The MPTF Office oversees the yearly UN Multi-Stakeholder Discussion Forum on Pooled Financing. Conceived as a platform for stakeholder dialogue and engagement, the forum was established in 2019 at the request of the UNDP Executive Board and following recommendations from an independent evaluation of inter-agency pooled funds in September 2018.

Discussions on pooled funds are more relevant now than ever and the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres, has called for pooled financing to be doubled as part of the UN development system reform and repositioning. Not only are more and better pooled investments necessary for SDG and 2030 Agenda achievement, but they are an excellent vehicle for sharing best practices and lessons learned on pooled funding, and a critical component of funding United Nations humanitarian and peacebuilding action.
