Objectives

Fund scope

The Sudan Financing Platform is designed to support a range of short and medium-term initiatives that advance the United Nations "New Way of Working," blending this approach with a more coherent financing architecture across the humanitarian-development-peace aid architecture in Sudan.

Pooled contributions support the operationalization of a Secretariat for the Sudan International Partners Forum—a gathering supported through a special window where funding can be compiled to back activities that enable the United Nations development system and international community to implement projects that directly assist the furthest behind in Sudan.

Governance

Governance arrangements

Steering Committee

Provides strategic guidance and general supervision of the fund. Decisions are made by consensus. 

Technical Secretariat

Appointed by the Steering Committee, the Secretariat supports the operational day-to-day functioning of the Fund and provides technical and administrative support to the Steering Committee.

Administrative Agent

Participating Organizations receive funds through the Administrative Agent, Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) Office. The Administrative Agent is responsible for the receipt, administration and management of contributions from donors, disbursement of funds to Participating Organizations, and consolidation and dissemination of progress reports to donors.

Participating Organizations

Programme implementation is the responsibility of Participating Organizations. Each organization is programmatically and financially responsible for resources received.
